Kano is a state in Northern region of Nigeria. Its capital is also named Kano. According to 2006 National Census, Kano state is the most populous state in Nigeria. The state’s capital and largest city is the city of Kano, the second most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos. Kano is a developed city, housing a lot of industries. The Hausa language is the dominant language in the state, as it is in most of Northern Nigeria.
