Yenagoa is a Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Yenagoa (the State capital) in the south of the area. The Ijaw form the majority of the state. English is the official language, but Epie-Atissa language is one of the local language spoken in Yenagoa others such as Ekpetiama, Gbarian, Buseni and Zarama are Ijaw dialect in Yenagoa LGA. It is the home of the Bayelsa United FC, a premier league football club.
