Balga is one of the major Local Government Area in Bayelsa state. The dialects spoken in Bayelsa are; Ijaw, Mein, Kolukuma, Bomu, Nembe, Epie-Atisa and Ogbia. Bayelsa state has one of the largest crude oil and Natural gas deposits in Nigeria. The state has several Points of Interest.
