Uyo is the state capital of Akwa Ibom, South-South Nigeria. This Capital came into existence September 23, 1987. The primary indigenous language of this area is Ibibio. Uyo lies on the road from Oron to Ikot Ekpene. This area has a brewery and a textile mill.
