Gurara Waterfalls is in Gurara, a local government area in Niger State, North Central Nigeria. Standing at about 30 meters, the waterfall sits on the Gurara River along the Suleja-Minna Road.
Small streams branch off from the Gurara River, flowing around rocks on the cliff. These streams converge and cascade into a pond roughly 20 meters below.
The waterfall takes its name from a nearby village on the river’s edge. European explorers first discovered the site and saw its potential for recreation, eventually transforming it into a tourist destination.
Gurara Waterfalls ranks among Nigeria’s top holiday spots. A paved road leads to the falls, where visitors can relax at a mini-bar. A pavilion stands nearby, giving tourists a perfect view of the waterfall.
Small streams split off from the main Gurara River and gently wind around the rocks at the cliff’s edge. These streams come together in a narrow, rugged pass, then surge over the cliff with impressive force.
