Katsina is the capital of Katsina State. Geographically it is located east of the city of Sokoto and northwest of Kano close to the border with Niger. In 2016, Katsina’s estimated population was 429,000. However, the people in this city are known to be producers of cotton, hides, milliet, groundnut and guinea corn. They also have mills. The city is largely Muslim, and the population of the city is mainly from the Fulani ethnic group.
